Unless I'm mistaken, Case uses hydraulic fluid in the brakes, not regular DOT brake juice.

If your 4 speed shifter is on the floor it's a phase 1 machine, if the 4 speed shifter is on the dash to the right, and the fill/check dipstick is in the floor behind the rear seat its phase three. The s/n change was jjg0020000 and after for phase 3.

When the K first came out there was a service note to the dealers about the brake filler caps and the tag your talking about. None of the K's used DOT 3 fluid and I remember removing the tags from machines and filing the raised DOT letters in the caps off. Sometimes the DOT fluid would swell the seals more so in the slave cylinders causing a release issue. Other times the DOT fluid would eat them up and you would have no brakes by passing in the m/c or leaking into the transaxle. I would also replace the flex lines at the slave cylinders if you think DOT fluid Has been run in it. You may also find the brakes worn slam out causing a low/no pedal. If you are going to remove the outer brake covers, remove the rear drain plug in the transaxle, it holds 5 gallons of lube and will make a mess if your not ready. The whole job is not that bad, just $$$ and there is steps to do the adjustments that need to be followed.
