Usually those are installed in the filter head.

A serial number determines which 580K you have. The hydraulic suction filter/strainer ((part number 1) is different for a 580K and a 580K Phase 3.

The parts book is HERE. Remove the switch and plug the wire back on it. Turn the ignition switch to the run position. Then push on the plunger on the switch and check the indicator light. It should go on and of while stroking the plunger.

Just throwing this in, I worked for many years on those units and they were fussy about filters, we had the same issues and found that Fleetgard and Case filters gave the best result at keeping that light out. In our climate the oil would have to warm up till the light went out and the light was RPM sensitive cold. Even the manual talks about this issue.

I just replaced mine this past winter with the case filter, just as melben said it would illuminate until the fluid warmed up.My 580k has 1500hrs on it,had a hell of a time getting the old one off, might have been original. The new case filter worked perfectly light doesn’t come on at all now, replaced it in the middle of this past winter. Maybe you need a different filter?

To make it worse is that something like packing fragments my be in the oil. So, just because a new filter is installed doesn't mean it won't start restricting oil flow in a short amount of time.
