Case 580K Will Not Move

Elvis61 ยท 2010-11-09 17:15

After changing out the hydraulic pump the hydraulics now work. Now the unit will not move. Anything like this happened to anyone else? What was the fix?

Hydraulic pump way in the front. Shouldn't have anything up there you coulda knocked loose. Is the drive line turning when in gear? If it is, try different gear. If not then the trans. pump must have lost prime sitting still during repairs. It is a waste of oil, but you can easily test this by over filling, put in gear, when it primes up drain back down to level. If that isn't it the lever must not be adjusted right on shuttle. If is starts in gear it will not allow pressure....this is a fix from the 580E's which could start in gear and people starting machine from ground was breaking stuff! I think some 580k's had solenoids to shift on shuttle even? Hmmmm....i been working on a bunch of 580L and M's lately. Make sure ur starting engine in neutral and try over filling oil in shuttle temporarily, i will do some research tonight to try and remember that jewel.

First thing to check would be the button on the loader control lever. It operates a solenoid to disconnect drive for dumping your bucket when loading trucks. There is a second one for the shift lever also. Could also be wire came off or a blown fuse. I would lean toward electrical problem causing it.

If it is a early K, with the shifter coming up through the floor. Unplug the solenoid on the left side of the power shuttle. If the machine then moves, then one of the swiches has shorted out.
