The Case 621b transmission problem is it keeps down shifting from 2nd to 1st gear .
Could be a bad shift solenoid or a speed sensor. Have you tried shifting into 3rd to see if it would pull in then. Problem could also be in the shifter itself you'd have to test all with ohm meter to find out for sure.
Does it have inching
Yes will shift in and out of 2 nd to 1st but won’t stay in 2nd . Sometimes it works but lately it won’t . It seems like when u slow down or hit the brake it starts shifting up and down
The shift solenoids are in the trans control valve on right side of machine. Open right hand engine door and look toward the front, you'll see a cover held on with a spring rod like a old brake master cylinder, it'll be vertical. Remove cover and you'll see the solenoids, test each on separately by removing connector and connection ohm meter to terminals, should have about 45ohms each cold , if my memory serves me right. The speed sensor is located on the left side of the transmission housing about mid way, it should have about 45ohms also I think.
Been many years since I worked on these, but posted alot in the past. If the TCU sees a shift solenoid out of ohm range, the TCU shuts off & loader stops. Inching circuit is good place to start.
