When the shiftl lever is moved to foreward, the transmission shifts into reverse. When the shift lever is moved to reverse the transmission shifts into foreward. There is no 1 or 2 only 3 and 4 th gear. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Certainly is a strange problem - new one for me.... Has anything been worked on or touched before this problem came about, or did the machine just start doing this on it's own?
Is the shift lever a mechanical type that there is a rod from the cab lever going directly to the valve body or is it an electric shift type? If it a lever type (metal rods ) , it could be one of the lever thats splined has slipped and gone over center and is now operating in reverse . something similar to a wipe motor arm after it goes over center and the wiper will work opposite to the other. If its electrical , I know very little other than it seems like the polarity is changed on one of the soliniods , anyone at the wires or anyone change a battery etc ?
