Looking for some direction on how to safely gain access to the transmission drain plug. Dozer is sitting on flat dirt. The dozer has a backhoe on the machine as well. Simply trying to gain access to the drain plug to service the transmission. Any techniques, picture or text would be would be appreciated. I have seen some who back up onto railroad ties, others tilt to up using front loader bucket and then stick ties underneath the tracks. Regards, Grant

Not familiar with your machine but most machines will have access to drain plugs when you crawl under them. Usually don't have to remove belly pans. With a loader and backhoe you should be able to lift the machine up and put large wood blocking or RR ties under the tracks to give more room. Don't use cinder blocks and don't rely on the machine hydraulics to hold it up. Use the hyd's. as secondary supports and make sure to engage the parking brake so it can't accidently move. For draining the oil you probably want the machine level instead of lifting just one end of it.
