Hello everyone I am working on a case 850D that came with a cable plow mounted to the back they want to run the dozen without the plow on the back. Can I run the supply line from the hydraulic pump straight to the main control valve without any issues ? Is there any extra plumbing that needs to be done ?
I think it would depend on how the plow hydraulics are hooked up. There may be a power beyond adaptor on the valve. The simple way might be to couple the inlet and and return hoses for the plow together. The same way hoses for a quick attach backhoe are coupled when the hoe is taken off. Do not run the machine with the hoses uncoupled or you will deadhead the pump. If the plow just uses an extra spool on the main valve you might not have to do anything other than removing the plow.
The inlet line coming off the top of the hydraulic pump runs to the cable plow then goes to the control valve on the unit. All the cable plow hydraulic plumbing is on the actual plow itself removed from the unit. The guy who had it says they used a tee fitting to connect the hydraulic pump inlet line to the control valve then cranked it up blow up the pump. Which makes no senses to me
They deadheaded the pump. Probably needed to use a power beyond adaptor on the valve. I think your best bet is to have someone experienced with equipment hydraulics have a look at it. A hydraulic schematic for the machine would be a big help. Then you could plumb it the way it came from the factory.
