I have a 2000 or 2001 (cant remember) case90xt. It sprung a hydraulic leak, ended up being one of the hydraulic filters had loosened and then pressure blew out the filters gasket. So replaced both filters and ended up needing 9 gallons of hytran. It was working fine.. bucket lifted in all directions and would drive. So stopped it, finished spraying out all the gunk and hydraulic fluid in machine (since i have oil change plate removed) put front foot plates back in and remounted filters onto the bracket that holds em and dropped the cab back down.. now i dont get any movement in bucket or drive. And parking brake light doesn't come on even when i hit the park brake button. All safety switches (cab, seat, and lap bar have been bypassed to rule that out) any ideas? How can i tell if pump burned up?
Maybe you just broke a pump coupler. Quick check is to put the line from the small filter into a pale, and have someone just crank the machine. If oil comes out then your pump coupler is ok, and you need to check your charge pressure. If no oil comes out then your pump coupler is probably bad. Good place to start anyways. The equipment pump feeds the travel circuit and the bucket. Most accurate way to test it is to put a flow meter on it, but I doubt that you have one of those. So the next best option is to check your charge pressure. If you ran that pump dry, then its probably not in to good of shape.
Thanks, so it has line that goes from the top front of the pump and goes to small filter but right before the filter it Ts and a small line goes back under the front of the pump towards front right of skid.. then there is a line that comes out of the back of the small filter and turns down and goes into side of the pump housing?? Or is it some kinda valve? (The drive levers are on top of it) i assume your talking about taking that line off and checking for flow there? Thanks again.
Take hose 18 off at the left side of the picture, and put in a pale, and have someone crank the machine (oil may come out very quickly, so be ready to shut off the machine) If you have oil flow, then put a gauge in the fitting 19 (you should be able to just remove the sensor and screw a gauge in)
Thanks Gary.. went out today to mess with it.. and thought i should fire it up and try just in case some sensor or something got wet. Sure enough it works fine. Quick question.. is that whole unit pictured the pump unit.. or does the pump mount to the front of that. I was thinking the pump might be the front part (basically in between your legs, behind that cover in footwell area?)
Yes, the gear pump is "basically in between your legs, behind that cover in footwell area" Well we know that your pump coupler is ok, and that your hydraulics are sort of ok. Could have a interlock electrical issue.
