How tight are the tracks? I guess it's possible the new rails could be stiff and need to be driven a bit to break them in.

What condition are the rollers in? We’re they replaced?

  3. #3Broadwayzack872022-10-07 10:22

    The rollers are new to

  4. #4MattR2022-10-07 11:19

That would have been my first guess as well

  5. #5Tinkerer2022-10-07 11:27

Could you post a photo of both tracks ? A video would be even better. Videos cannot be posted here but a hosting website (uTube) link can be.

Does anyone know what size and length master link bolts are for case

  7. #7Broadwayzack872022-10-07 12:13

    These are recent

    I posted some pics

My eyes are not that great anymore but it looks to me like the lower roller flanges are riding on the pin bosses. How many hours are on the new undercarriage. Also how worn were the grousers on old pads and what kind of surface are you running on?

Not much and they sitting good bit from the pins. Clay and sand but it’s like riding over rip rap rocks. Would idler supports and not being shimmed right make it like that

I just got rid of John Deere 750 and rollers rail and l was worn still road hood but this stuff was newer and even trying to grade like riding on blocks

Can you post some photos of the entire track (front to back) ? Nasty looking sproket segments. IMHO. Pictures are deceiving but it appears that the sprocket teeth were trimmed for clearance with the frame.

The pin boss looks like it’s rubbing the end of the pin a bit too

I've seen that style of sprocket on Case machines before. The bottom rollers do not look new as the flanges seem too tall in relation to the roller diameter. It sure looks like the flanges are hitting the pin bosses. You can see a bit of a gouge on the pin boss in your 2nd pic. This would definately make the ride rough. Also looks like excessive rubbing on the sides of the rails. I don't know if it's possible that the undercarriage could be mis-matched if it's apparently all new. Case had rails similar to Cat system one with rotating bushings. Not sure if they were an option or what your machine came with originally. Could the rollers not be correct for the rails or vice/versa if aftermarket rails weren't available with the rotating bushings?

I agree with Welder Dave on the bottom rollers not being new, (from 2nd photo appearance). While it could be parallax error in the camera angle, the roller's bearing surface does appear deformed as in dozing on a slope such as the left side of the machine being lower in elevation than the right. The roller flange also looks "thinned" to me also from the same scenario. Regardless, diminished roller bearing surface diameter riding on/against the new chains could very well cause pin boss interference as has been cited. As mentioned, incorrect, or mismatched parts, (especially aftermarket) should be compared to OEM machine specifications.

Wrong rails for the rollers and the sprockets they should be extended life chain.

Those rollers aren’t new, they have lots of hrs on them, that’s your ruff ride

So get new rollers on the bottom? And on my other dozer the rollers was worn out but it still never shook like this can it be the idler shims not in it cause it has a gap under

I’m not experienced in Case dozers, but that’s a strange looking undercarriage for a little dozer. Is it possible it’s the wrong set of track groups? Doesn’t look right somehow.

Don't think it has anything to do with the idlers. The rollers have a lot of wear. Not uncommon for a seller to state the undercarriage is in better shape than it actually is. See if you can get some numbers off the rails and/or rollers to see if they are correct for each other. I think you need new rollers. As a stop gap fix you could torch some of the flange dia. off. That should tell you right away it is the problem.

No they ain't - the roller treads are so worn out (red arrow) that the bosses on the ends of the track links (blue arrow) are running hard up against the roller flanges (yellow arrow). That on it's own will cause vibration. Like Nicky I have no experience with Case but the photos you posted look wrong (as regards wear) on so many levels.

I agree that it looks like the rollers are riding on the pin bosses. We have a Case 850K that we put new (not from Case) rails on and had that problem. The sprockets are made that the way you see them as an extended life thing. But we found that our rails did not mate with case sprockets. We put traditional sprockets on and solved our issue with rough ride

  23. #23Tinkerer2022-10-08 20:28

Check the oval sprocket opening on the new link. Seems to have a big gap on the rear.

  24. #24Welder Dave2022-10-08 21:44

There you can clearly see the gouge/divot in the pin boss I mentioned earlier. I wonder if the rails could be for a different machine or the sprockets are for the Case rails with rotating bushings. If the latter might account for the gaps on the sprocket teeth.

We have a D 6T LGP at work that's shakes the fillings out of your teeth specially on hard ground, nothing wrong with its tracks at all, just big wide grousers don't like hard ground. Those grousers on that machine seem rather high which wouldn't help with a smooth ride, almost looks like the chains/ grousers are off a bigger machine and the rollers are definitely not new by a long shot.
