Hi all still on the hunt for 8/9 ton machine. Found a case cx80 , does anybody have one and are they ok .Let me know is there anything to look out for. It has rubber tracks , when they are shot can you refit wjth steel
The CX-80 is a good excavator. I use both the 80 and the CX-75 quite a bit and they are about the same. The only thing I would say to look out for is that when you are on blacktop in hot weather, the rubber grabs the asphalt pretty good and that sharp turns seem to put a lot of stress on the track drive. The tracks then become out of adjustment. With steel tracks there is less friction, but the blacktop gets scratched and destroyed. I'm not sure about the refit with steel, but I imagine you could.
