Blew a hydraulic line on Case MC1150 track loader. After putting new line on, topped fluid off, cannot get loader or bucket to function. Assume I have air in system. Have loosened hose fittings to remove air. Have had no luck getting boom or bucket to move. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Welcome to HEF @Bo_2015 The hydraulic system shouldn't require priming. Could the suction hose to the hyd pump have loose clamps? How old is this machine? Do you know which model 1150 it is based on? Was the hose that blew just on one of the circuits? or primary from pump? Did the machine run for a while with low/no oil?
1972 MC1150 - Marine Corps Suction hose to hyd pump clamps are good Did replace return filter Did clean wire mesh suction filter - was not dirty Being it's a 1972, I think it's one of the first 1150s Hose that blew was for the bucket tilt Did not run for very long after hose blew, was shut down immediately with very little fluid loss, possibly 1.5 gallons Did have to replace another line with a slightly minor leak. When restarted, no hydraulic functions worked on the boom, bucket, or clam shell for bucket. Cycled all controls for a while and cracked fittings on the line that was replaced to allow air or fluid to come out and in a short time regained all hydraulics. This last time when the line blew, boom was propped up so as not lose any fluid. We also replaced 2 other lines along with the 1 blown line. Those 2 lines were questionable and I was concerned about a blow out and losing fluid in the future. Machine sat for probably 8-10 days before lines could be gotten and reinstalled. Don't know if this info helps out any.
Maybe the charge pump circuit is air locked. Try to put air into the hydraulic tank with a blow gun and ball sized rag covering the Hydraulic Tank opening while pushing air into the tank at the same time. Dont go wild with the air or you will have a hydraulic bath of oil. Even 1 Psi. of air on the oil will push towards the pumps even more so if You loosen the output side of pumps a hair. If your charge pump runs off the transmission then put the air into the transmission sump to help push oil into the Charge pump. Have loosened the top of some of these pumps to help bleed, but only if the air trick did not work. Hope this helps. SimonC
