Case return 2012 cat 314d lcr

Owenfred · 2022-10-09 18:50

Hello, Machine has aux hydraulics, but no case return. I'm looking to add a brush cutter and will likely need a case return. What's the best way to add one to these machines? Not made of money so looking for quality, but am concerned about cost as well. Thanks

Just need to get that case drain oil back to tank so you can usually fit a T somewhere convenient and connect the case drain to that and that should be enough. We have fitted hydraulic rippers this way and its been ok.

Does everyone just run regular hydraulic hose along the stick? I called cat dealer and they say that's their method. Didn't have a part number for a hard line kit...

Mind you, if you have the opportunity to run some hard pipe, have at it but generally it’s just a T and some hydraulic hose and crimp fittings and good brackets or clamps, I prefer Stauff. Don't need them for the pressure but for peace of mind. Bigger is better especially if your doing a mower.

Are there any existing unoccupied clamp brackets on the boom to which an additional hard line could be fixed.? If not then that confirms the dealer’s response in recommending a flexible hose.

Some have stitch welded on some blocks so that the hose can be put in sections. Cheaper to repair down the road should one hose get damaged. Also cheaper for the hose that does all the flexing from the boom to stick. Simon C
