Case SV300 crank but no start

Sv300nv ยท 2020-12-05 01:13

Case SV300 (Hours 2,567) skid steer will crank but will not start and will show no signs of wanting to start even with starting fluid . A 3835 code (throttle valve actuator power stage low ) appears . Although one time I moved the throttle handle slightly and it seemed to want to start for a second . Is it possible for a bad connection, broken wire , or relay that would prevent it from even slightly starting even with starting fluid ? Thanks in advance !

First thing make sure you have fuel, then check all the fuses.

There is fuel , about 1/4 full and fuel in lines . As far as fuses . They were checked and looked good . Not sure about the relays ?

You can also take th he fuse boxes lose and look for green spots on connections on the back side. You can find something that works from a relay and start switching relay to see if you have a bad one.

Post a few pictures of the engine bay please. Wiring is prone to rubbing near the AC compressor and lines.

Okay , tomorrow I will get an image and check with update . Thank you in advance !

Air filter was removed to try and start .

3835-ECU Power stages: Throttle valve actuator power stage: SRC low Context: The engine control unit (ECU) monitors the electrical signal of the throttle valve actuator (TVA) position sensor. Cause: The signal circuit is below 0.0 V. Possible failure modes: 1. Faulty wiring. 2. Faulty TVA sensor. Solution: 1. Verify the fault code is still present and in an active state. A. If the fault is no longer active or present, check for an intermittent fault. B. If the fault is still present and active, continue with step 2. 2. Place the key switch OFF. Check the wiring harness from the TVA sensor to the ECU. Inspect all connectors, pins, and wiring harness for broken connectors, corrosion, bent pins or wire breaks. A. If any damage is found, repair or replace connections, pins, or wiring. B. If no damage is found, reconnect the wiring harness to the sensor. Continue with step 3. 3. Place the key switch OFF. Disconnect the wiring harness from the TVA sensor at connector X-470 and the ECU at connector X-016. Use a multi-meter to check for continuity from the harness side of connector: X-016 pin 8 to chassis ground X-016 pin 53 to chassis ground X-016 pin 37 to chassis ground There should be no continuity. A. If there is no continuity, the wiring harness is in good condition. Replace the TVA sensor. B. If there is continuity, there is a short circuit to ground condition in the wiring harness. Locate and repair damaged wiring. Item 4 is the TVA

Wiring schematic. You likely have a rubbed wire in 340, 341 or 342 I would recommend that you follow the wire from the TVA, and check if it has rubbed through. There is not much room in the engine compartment, so you may have to do this by feel, wear gloves as wires can be sharp. As I mentioned, wires are prone to rubbing through. If wiring appears to be ok, test wires at the TVA plug, and advise on your readings. (key on) 338 - actuator power/ground. Will likely have no reading 339 - actuator power/ground. Will likely have no reading 340 - Should have 5v 341 - 0.5-4.5v 342 - ground As advised by the service manual, you can also check continuity from the TVA plug to the ECM. Use a meter with a beeper function or some electrical load. If wiring checks out ok, then TVA valve has likely failed.
