I have the allison 2221-1 transmission out of my case loader for repair. Upon removing the torque converter section of the transmission i found a bad bearing which was causing the noise i was looking for. I had the unit dyno tested and they said low range was fine, but high range it was making a grinding/growling sound. Does anyone know if there were any problem areas in the high range gearing for these transmissions??
