I have a CAT 215 excavator, Serial 57Y02148, 1983 model. The seals under the track pedals were leaking a little so I changed them. Everything worked fine for 20 minutes or so and then I lost my steering. Machine will walk forward and reverse fine. When you move the steering stick to the left nothing happens. When you move it to the right it reverses the direction of the machine (if you are moving forward it instantly goes backwards; if you are moving backwards it instantly moves forward). The new seal under the left pedal is now leaking a fair bit. Will that cause the problem?
