I have a 225D excavator that when a big demand is put on hydraulics everything stops. It goes to sleep for a few seconds or a min. or so. No change in engine sounds. wait and everything is normal again. Could do it 5 times in an hour or 5 times a day just random. Pilot controls still work because boom will drop if lever is pulled. will do it when travelling and making hard turns. Filters all changed twice. Has aw32 in hydraulics. serial number 2SJ-. Year 1990. Engine 3208.
we put gauges on and pilot pressure is good. Pump pressure is good. Pump pressure goes to zero when it stops. took main relief apart and it was ok. cleaned it up and put it back. took piston out of actuator on pump and resealed could not see anything wrong with it. only thing that was odd was there were washers or shims stacked on stem of piston. why would there be washers there? to hold pump full stroke? doesn't show them in book.
