CAT 226 5FZ serial

Good morning i am new to the forum. A little background so my boss bought a Cat 226 skid steer and had paid to get the motor rebuilt because the oil pump had went out. Long story short the guy took it all apart and put everything in a bucket then never came back. Me not having much mechanic experience ( shadetree in the driveway at best) took on the challenge when asked if i could get it back together . Fast forward a little bit I got the engine rebuilt put back together and it fired up and runs great with only a few things I had to correct. Being the first engine i had ever been inside of and worked starting was a big achievement but the machine wouldn't do anything but sound good. I did some research and troubleshooting on the solenoids valves and found out that they had proper voltage and the resistance at each one but would not function so i pulled all you them apart and replaced o rings and cleaned and got them where they would all function with 12 volt power then reinstalled. I started it and the wheels moved (backwards but they moved lol ) but no lift function. So where i am at now is I have fluid to my lines on the bottom of the control for the lift functions and the pilot control valves are not leaking. Is there a way to test the pilot control valve other than just looking? Also if the valve is not leaking and presses and releases the way it should could there be another another issue with it? Is there be anything else i could check to help see what the problem is. Could anyone help with a pic of the hyd. system so i can make sure the lines are where they are supposed to be. I do have the drive lines backwards i was trying to find the problem with the other functions before i drained the fluid again. Could that make the lift functions not work? To fix the directional issue could i just switch the lines on my left joysitck to correct the drive controls instead of removing the large lines in efforts to try to not waste more fluid ( 6 gal lost so far lol). Im glad this is not english class. Thanks for any help or advice in advance. Greg
