Can any on give me the sequence for adjusting the valves on the Cat 3034 in my 226?
All? 4 cylinder (4 cycle inline) engines have the 2 center cylinders on the same throw, and the front and back on the same throw. So when the front cylinder is at top dead center with one valve opening and the other closing, then it's pair is at top dead center on the compression stroke for adjusting it's valves. Rotate 180 degrees and pay attention to what valves move and do it's pair, then another 180 and the one that had the valves moving at first, then another 180 and the last one.
Thanks Delmer,I thought that might be the case but I just wanted to be sure.
Hey Charles is the drag strip still around in Dallas?
Nope been closed awhile.Too many noise complaints from all the people that moved in.
Do't you just love that crap! Just like around here, people build a housing development inline with the runway of the airport and then start complaining about the noise when the air planes take off. Bet they aren't bothered by the noise when they are leaving on vacation to the Bahamas! Next are the people who by land out in the country build a house then want to stop the farmer whose' family has been working the land for 100 year from making noise or causing bad smells spreading the fields. Then there are the people with those nice long winding paved driveways who complain about the quarry down the street.
What are the valve clearances on the engine intake and exhaust?
