Cat 235 bucket cylinder hoses

Hi Guys, Ok this may seem stupid and simple but we can't get it right. We've replaced the hoses that go into the bucket cylinder however as we extend the stick it is obvious the hoses are being torqued. Is there a proper angle that the hoses should be set at? We've had the 90 degree end be parallel to the cylinder...didn't work. We then shifted it to under the stick (see below photo), as we extend it rubs against the stick which wont take much time to chew through. This is the same set up we had when we purchased the machine and same ends and length of hose so we dont know why it is giving us problems. Any thoughts? Mark

I dont have a 235, but it looks to me like they were 2 short when you got it. Heres how mine look.

I think the left hose is just a touch to short and the right your missing an adapter on the cylinder. The hose should almost cover the cylinder pin when it head's up the stick, instead of going below it like your's does. The hardline isn't right on the left either, but for as much as a 235 is gonna get worked it'll probably be ok.

I'd agree that the hoses look too short, but they also look like genuine Cat hoses (at least they have what look like Cat reusable ends anyway). Did you get them made to a specific Part Number or made to a pattern from the former ones which by your own admission you think are too short..? If you give me your machine Serial Number (send it to me by PM if you don't want to post it here) and I can find out what the correct Cat Part Number ought to be. That's assuming that the boom and stick have not been changed from when the machine was first built.

It's not the hoses that are wrong you're boom has been cobbled up.Don't look very safe to me. Bob
