I have a Cat 257b skid steer with tracks. Sometimes when moving the tracks start to squeal and lock up like a brake is being applied. Not sure if it's the left, right, or both tracks locking up. The parking brake light does not come on and the hydros still work the bucket, (elimnating the lap bar or seat switch in my opinion). It will not move in forward or reverse until I lift the lap bar and then turn off the parking brake. Then it will move again sometimes and other times it takes several attempts, or I just have to turn it off and let it cool down. Usually after cooling down it will work until it heats back up then it does the same thing. Some days it happens a lot, other days it does it some, and some days not at all. Seems to be getting worse latley. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Are there any Active Diagnostic Codes..? If you don't know how to access them I can send you a document telling you how to do it, it's not a difficult process.
It's not showing any codes.
how are the bearings in the rollers?
The roller bearings are fine, just put a new set of tracks on last month.

i had this issue with a ASV RC50 which run the same drive motors to my knowledge, it turned out to be a internal leak in the drive motor which hydraulic'd the brake on. To test if this has is this is the issue simply crawl under the machine, back off the bottom few screws on the backing plate of the drive motor a few turns, if oil drains out (it shouldn't if everything is OK inside) let the oil drain out and try the machine again, if the machine runs fine after releasing the oil you need to take the drive motor off, and replace to first couple of seals as you take it apart.
Sorry for your loss... So do I...
