log splitter bypasses trying to split white oak how to raise pressure
Bypasses inside of the pump, over the relief valve or inside the cylinder?
Do you know at what pressure it is bypassing. You might consider putting put a 5000 PSI gauge in line and see the pressure you are developing now before you increase it and possibly break something. If knotty, white oak it can get pretty tough to splt especially when it is not froze.
Pressure check would be the first thing, most of the cheaper log splitter cylinders had just a o ring and backup for a piston seal so that may be bypassing. If you crank up the relief without checking further you may blow the cyl seals. Did that once .
