Looking at buying a Cat 314C LCR. 45xx hrs. Undercarriage is in pretty dang decent shape except left idler. I noticed I was tracking it back and turning just doing a general check on things and it bound up. I got out to check and the idler was wobbling in the track frame. Idler bearings are in great shape. It just moves side to side in track frame.....maybe an inch? Dont see anything obviously broken.....? Maybe bolts on back of yoke? Im not sure.
Not much to go wrong there.
Yes I know. You can grab each edge of the track and move the whole track....which then goes to idler. There is zero slack in the idler bearings. Just where the blocks set in the track frame. They will move side to side about an inch. Other side is mint.
