Do the two controllers have any Part Numbers on them.? If no, what is the Serial Number of the 312, and the S/No of the 320 that you are thinking of taking the controller from.

Thanx for the reply. 312 serial no is 7dk and 320 controller part number is 119-0609

I was hoping for something different......... The 7DK-prefix 312 excavator is a Japan-only model that was never manufactured anywhere else in the world. There is no service information regarding it anywhere on the online system. The only place information exists for the 7DK machine is in Parts Manuals printed in Japanese. For a machine with Serial Number up to 3000 the Publication reference is XJBP7177. For a machine with Serial Number from 3001 onwards the Publication reference is XJBP7246. They are available to download from Cat. The 119-0609 Controller only appears to fit certain early 320 machine models. I have doubts whether it would work on your 312 but have nothing to confirm them.

If 312 7dk(7dk is very close to 6gk models as i know) machine's controller connectors wiring diagram pin numbers and their identification names are same with 320 controller, then can i use it as a replacement ? Or is there any software differences.

The controller Part Number for all the 6GK-prefix machines is 106-0167. I can't see any information anywhere that cross-references 106-0167 to 119-0609 so I would have to say that the two controllers are different in some way. Maybe in the software as you suspect.

But if we compare both wiring diagrams as i said controller connector pin numbers and their names are same. So what do you think ?

The Part Numbers are different therefore something is different between the two of them. If it is not external then it must be internal. The software is the most likely possibility.

The software parameters are most likely to be very different. Different engines, different pumps and you haven't said if the series of machines are different. An A model is completely different from a B model which is completely different again from a C model. A machine built for Asia is also likely to be different from a machine built for North America. I don't see what it would hurt though is you just tried it. Plug the 320 box into the 312 and see what happens.

The controller Part Number he gave was from an A series machine John, but like you I think the difference between the 320 & the 312 is going to be a case of very different software.
