I paid 175k for 320drr with hydraulic thumb and 900 hrs... Pretty sure it wasn't the best deal

You can buy a Komatsu PC200LC-8 Thumb spec and it got 25% more lift capacity than the 320D and burns less fuel

If you buy a Komatsu, then you will own a Komatsu. This man wants a CAT!

Take whatever you can buy a Deere, Hitachi, or Komatsu for, add 30 % and you will have your number. LOL. I own about 1/3 cat stuff, and I will admit it is much more up front but it does last and does bring more at resale.

i got a quote at the end of last year for a 25 tonne machine, with a long undercarriage. fitted with quick hitch, does not include buckets. (brand new price) hitachi $270,000 Kobelco $280,000 CAT $320,000!!! bear in mind these are all australian dollar amounts, although with it being at parity with the US, im not sure if there would be much difference, though i have noticed most american dealers are offering 0% finance on all machines, a good rate here is 8-9%.

Cat has been know to throw a high number to a potential customer first and as the deal get closer to finalizing with another brand, they will come down big time. The rumor is that there is brand loyalty money available to dealerships that they can use to convince a buyer to stay cat or go cat. I've herd of it coming into play on several tlb & small dozer deals. When I was pricing my mini hoe, cat was comparable in price, I just found a good deal on another brand.

u bet they will come down i wont say what the price i seen is but they dropped 30k from ther original price anf your piece is more expensive and larger than what im looking at, u want a rough price go on cat used and find a few next to new low hour machines to compare prices with i also came home last night from touring a few caterpillar factories in the us and the quality they put into ther machines and the qaulity inspections they go through are amazing i will continue to but cat it absolutely amazed me also my buddy has had it with deer and is ready to ditch his deer hoe, backhoe, and skidsteer for cat because ther parts availability and reliability is garbage he has had nothing but problems with all 3 pieces and also his last model deere pieces also i have nothing i can honestly complain about with any of my cat pieces which i think shows pretty good quality and reliability right ther

i bet u could get that price down to the 290 range believe me maybe even less i wouldnt buy a non quick attach excavator ever as i may switch to a frost bucket 10 times a day

    Cobalt 320 or a Cat 320 ???

  15. #15rockfall2011-08-23 10:43

Dont know. The prices have changed so much since I last time bought two machines both 2003 back in 2006 from Singapore. Somebody once told me it is coz metal is getting expensive and Japan is running out of raw material.
