Im looking at this excavator the bucket wants to move on its own. It will curl by itself and didn't seem to have much power while using it. I haven't taken the cylinder apart just curious if yall have dealt with this. Curious if any of the trouble codes could be causing it or maybe a broken cylinder rod. Thanks. They are active 1952-9 chassis angle sensor 1956-3 bucket position sensor 2426-3 stick angle sensor Machine serial xcf00348
The first one (-9 abnormal update rate) requires a CAN test. The other two (-3 voltage above normal) require a PWM sensor signal test. See attached. Do you have an electrical schematic.? You might just need one.
Nothing is ever easy anymore lol ill look these over and follow up with you
Im still troubleshooting this problem. got the diagnostic codes taken care of and still having trouble. if you extend the bucket out gravity will let it bleed off curling it is the same way as long as the machine is running if you kill the machine it will stop. the max pump psi ive seen is 5k. the hydraulics seemed stronger today but still not as strong as usual. could somthing else in grade control cause this or not
Its a 323f guess i fat fingered the wrong number.
There are a few things that can cause bucket drift, is the machine fitted with a quick coupler? If so, block off the quick coupler lines and see if it still does it. Line reliefs can also cause bucket drift, especially if it has a quick coupler because you’re always up against them when removing and installing the bucket. Does your bucket drift all the way off to a rest position or does it drift and stop then drift again once you move the bucket lever again? Here’s the things that can cause bucket drift: Quick coupler solenoids Line reliefs Bucket cylinder seals Control valve leakage I would start blocking off and seeing if you can get the drift to stop and try to narrow it down that way.
Quick coupler was already blocked off. The drift will come to a stop and its a continuous drift until it stops. Seems to stop at the same place. Took bucket cylinder loose at tbe bucket held it up level with the crane and the cylinder rod would slowly extend with the machine running. Turning the machine off it would stop its extend. Really thought it was going to be a cylinder issue but it doesn't seem so now. While machine is running and holding the bucket in curl or fully extended at high rpm it sounds like a screaching noise or something bypassing sounds like its around the pump area but hard to pinpoint from in the cab. The pressures were staying consistent by ET. The grade control wiring for stick angle laser catcher and bucket cylinder were beat to hell from brush clearing and none looked like it was recently done. The bucket from the extend position is a slow drift from full curl it drops like a rock until the bucket bottom is close to level .
Drift to neutral on my 324DLs, 330CLs, and 328DLCRs was the makeup spring in the relief cartridge for that circuit. The spring would unfurl, leaving a tail in the seat for the makeup port within the relief valve. I'd disassemble and flip the spring. Replacements on these have revision to stop makeup spring from uncurling.
Ok i will look into that thank you
To test for what I said above, simply swap the relief cartridges for extend and retract on the bucket circuit.
Ok do you happen to have a hydraulic schematic. I think you may be right on the money. Have u bought the updated replacement or just always flip yours.
Sent you one. Check your messages.
Have you checked main relief pressure when doing a boom stall vs when doing a bucket stall? If so what pressures are you seeing?
Those sensor codes don’t matter as far as your issue goes they are grade control sensors.
Do you still have this schematic?
If you want a schematic appropriate to whatever machine you have you will need to supply a Serial Number.

So you have a different machine, and therefore a different schematic, to the OP. Check your message inbox.
