Hi Here at the Hervey Bay Historical Village we have just been given a cat 35 3 cylinder diesel crawler and jinker used in the 1930's onwards in the fraser Island logging industry. We are face with restoring it. The 2 cyl starting engine carby is missing and we have no informastion on the unit at all. A Workshop manual would be a great start. If anyone has any information on these units it would be most appreciated. Regards Brian
It might pay you to register on the ACMOC Forum and ask there.
Will do, Thanks Brian
Is the intake manifold there ?, if so where does the carb mount, on the end of the manifold, or on top . Diesel 35, and early diesel 50,75 tractors used a Ensign Carburetor (Same as a Cat 10,15) on the end of the manifold. Later Diesel 40,s 50, 75, rd 6, rd7 rd8, d8 2u used the down draft manifolds & Zenith down draft carbs, which could retrofitted very easily to the early tractors . Our 35,40,50, rd6,7,8 tractors all had the later zenith carb & Manifold. The Ensign Carb & manifold are hard to find and pricey, plus they are made of pot metal. The Zenith Carbs are easily found along with the manifolds. Ken
Thanks Ken Really appreciate the info. Ours was at end of manifold.. AMOC people very helpful too.
HVTD, Please post updates and let us know how the project goes.
