Cat 365c issues.

Bolan ยท 2007-10-13 21:58

Anyone here run a 365 cat trac-hoe. reason i ask is the one we have seems to be very weak.i was gonna say slow too but its understandable from the enormous size of this hoe.Having a few issues with this machine.. It just stops right swing..ya have to swing left then right to get it to swing right.not a good thing when yer trying to swing something down into the trench. the part they think it is is in germany and its very expensive..no cost to me since its on warranty. just a little feedback if anyone has ran one of these..

What do they think is wrong with it? I had rented a Cat M322C it had about 1500 hrs on it and when just a tiny bit out of level it would swing on its own, they swing brake must have been messed up. But it's aggravating trying to set something or like you said put something in the hole.

Well they figure the problem is in the left joystick..some circuit problem..i dunno..Its a nice machine ..moves alot of diry quick..takes a team to keep up on backfill.

Yeah the machines are pretty weak. Problem sounds like the HE solinoid valve for the swing. Located on the Hydraulic tank bulk head. Try fiddling with the wires. If not then pull the Code archive up off the computer. Cross reference the fault code in the manual and then bingo.

Mind me asking why you didn't purchase a komatsu instead? Is it because of the dealer?

I would just as soon of bought a deer..way better machine.although komatsu is a good machine too..

i dont know about the 65 ton class, but the 385C is a slow pig, the komatsu 750 will totally outdig it... the komatsu 750 apparently destroys the deere 850 as well... i got a little bit of seat time in a 385C and i thought it was kinda weak and slow for its size, i was digging some pretty hard ground though in the cat's defense...

Wow, I found the opposite, Our 385C beats the hell out of a 750 and 800 Komatsu, not sure on the deere though, would love to try one.

Im running a 385C with 900 hours on it and am totally impressed!! What a brute! It seems to dig way better than our 385B. Its faster and a little more stable. Ive never even seen a 365 before! They only other hoe in this class ive run was a 700 Hitachi with about a million hours on it so that cant compare. Jason

It's good to hear a little positive feedback on the big cats,I was starting to wonder if they really were that bad. I have heard a lot of negative things about them and had a hard time beleiving they were that bad.

I know it depends on what your have run and what you have to compare with? But in cars, trucks, tractor, dozers and etc. there are always some that runs and operates better in every brand.I have seen it in lots of scrapers. There are good running and doggy ones. Just feel lucky when you have the good runners!!!!! Especially if your running a scraper.:usa
