We have a CAT374D MH modified in Sweden by MultiDocker with serial number CH741584 with Engine Model C-15 and Serial Number: TXG07072. The machine is CE certified so it has the overload protection kit and safety features (boom lowering control valve). We are on a barge in the middle of the ocean and just received a Lift Overload Warning. It happened when the boom was up and the operator was moving the excavator from one side of the barge to the other. As in any marine environment the tracks have been stiff due to sale water but the machine is used everyday and regularly serviced. Can anyone tell me how to reset the safety feature and how to avoid this situation. I also suspect that the operator may have accidently switched the 'Crane Mode' switch behind the Operator's seat. Resetting the system is the main issue and then checking the operation switches.
Error code shows 39:E00043 -02 does anyone know what this refers to. Thanks
That refers to machine system voltage being 18v or less. Not sure if it is current or was there at some time in the past, it's hard to determine. You could easily measure the voltage across the batteries with the engine running, it should be somewhere around 26v. From the manual - "MID039 E0043-2 Low system Voltage The system voltage is less than 18 V for more than 60 seconds. Perform a voltage check between the power supply and the monitor. Perform a voltage check between the power supply and the Machine ECM." My feeling is that your overload issue will most probably need Cat ET hooked up to the machine to monitor the pressure sensors for the boom raise system. It may well be that one of them is not behaving as it should. The attached may be of some use to you.
Thanks - I have a technician going to the machine which is a tough place to reach in the Bahamas. He will double check the codes. Is there a chance that blocked hydraulic filters might raise the pressure and create this type of fault?
Seeing as all the hydraulic filters are on the return side of the system I would say that's unlikely. Others may have differing opinions. Also there should be a plugged filter warning come up on the Monitor system.
Good point - sorry I am a bit of a novice at this. I will let you know what the diagnostic link shows when the technician arrives at the machine. Really appreciate your comments and help. Many thanks!
