CAT 416B has no brakes, replaced master cylinder due to leakage around brake pedal rods. Bled brakes until new HYDO oil was present at bleeder on axle housing and air was gone. Machine still has no pedal. I assume brake friction lining in axle housings are defective. Need help to isolate problem and info on getting it apart and replacing brakes if that is the problem. Machine #8SG03865 / Serial# 5HK07145, machine has 7400 plus hrs. on it. Any help appreciated.
It could possibly be that a brake piston seal has failed so the hydraulic pressure is not applying the brakes. That would be items 47 & 49 on the parts attachment. I’ve also included the instructions to remove and disassemble the rear axle.

Im looking at doing this exact job with my 416b, did yours go well? It looks in the manual like the brakes are some of the first things you disassemble so can you get in there and fix the leak without completely taking the whole thing apart? Thanks
