cat 446 questions ect

in midle of aquiring a 1990 cat 446 search says my queery is to vague when i search for 446 threads and comes back with nothing hasnt moved in a couple years so far i know a couple cylinders on the rear boom swivil leak and mybe a hose? no idea what special tools it needs so suggestions welcome? advice. i got pair of agm 88ah batteries to toss in it for testing suposidly runs nice how much of the parts on the B and D model are backwards comptible or does anyone know? dont see much on the first version of the 446 out there in research phase atm

    no special tools needed, but those pins will likely be a bear to remove. I would suggest, just removing shaft pin and leave housing in place as you should be able to remove gland from housing. Once you clean it you will be able to tell if its that shaft seal or a hyd line. And good luck on any documents/parts for that old machine. Good thing is they were built simple back in those days.
