Ihave a 1998 CAT 924f that has an electrical problem. Batteries read 24.8volts, none of the fans, lights dash work, except the glow plugs will. Won’t start, not even an indication that power gets to the starter solenoid. Batteries are new. Where should I start?
Follow the cables to see if there is a bat disconnect switch, in most cases its on the ground cable. Measure voltage at the starter, do you have 24V?
Welcome to HEF Eric. How good are you with Electrical Schematics and do you have a digital multimeter..? If a schematic would help you, click on my username below the profile photo and start a conversation with me. Give me the Serial Number of the loader and your email address. I can email you a schematic.
Find main power relay 3E9171. Check for 24v on 308L yellow @ main relay with key on. We know the 308L @ ignition is good, as you say glow works. If yes, check 112 purple @ main relay for 24v with key on. Main relay at "B" on image. Below is schematic. My hunch is failed main relay.
Thanks. Well check that out this morning...I appreciate your help
Master relay was bad. Ordered a new one and installed....problem solved. Thank you gentlemen!
SWEET!!!
