I have a 938g loader and the center hinge bearing is shot. Does anyone have manual that could share instructions for replacement?
If you provide a Serial Number, yes. Is it shot badly enough to need re-boring.?
About 3/8 inch play hopefully no boring needed. Thank you CAT0938GL9HS01055
Measured vertically or horizontally.? The former you might get away without reboring, the latter almost definitely not. I think the attachment should have everything you need. If you want to buy some time while you prepare for the job, take a look at the shims (1) under the upper bearing cap of both upper and lower hitches. If you loosen the bolts and lift each cap slightly it should be possible to cut the shims with tin shears and remove them. The old shims will be thrown away and replaced with new when you rebuild the hitch. It won't take out all the play but it might make it more manageable short-term.
