i need to change transmission oil in my1973 cat 950j the writing on the dipstick is japanese. can anyone give me the proper procedure for draining and refilling? or know where u can get a service manual for it? thanks

    Is the attached information enough for you regarding the transmission oil change.? The specification says 8 gallons for the complete transmission system including filter. Oil type should be an SAE30 meeting Cat TO-4 specification. Your dipstick should be a 5A-6295. If you would like to try to get hold of a dipstick with English characters try searching for 5S-8115. I don't know if this might help but the Japanese characters for FULL is and for ADD it is

    Please can you define what you mean by "Service Manual".? Are you looking for something containing basic maintenance or a complete repair, testing, & troubleshooting manual for the machine complete with schematics, etc.?
