CAT 966H MACHINE SN: TAL742 Hye all, anyone had any experience with 966H transmission not changing speed/gear in auto? If with manual control, the transmission shifts normally. Checked with ET and there was no fault code related to transmission found. Might be related to wiring, but shouldn't it also effect during manual control? Thanks in advance.
There's not really a whole lot that can be. 1) What is the transmission temp sensor reading in the ET status screen? 2) Is the left brake pedal position sensor reading correctly in the ET? ie 0% and 100% at full pedal strokes? More interested if it reads 0% without touching it really. 3) Are the upshift and downshift buttons responding properly in ET when pressed/let go? 4) When you turn the dial to auto, does the shift mode in ET change to AUTO as well? 5) In ET, under configuration, is the autoshift function set to "Installed"? Stranger things have happened. 6) With AUTO selected, try to drive. Keep your right foot flat for at least 10 seconds. If there's anything mechanically wrong with the transmission, speed sensor codes will activate and set the buzzer off. Does this happen? The above should point you in some direction at least (no pun intended).
