I'm looking at buying a 980H with a RH bucket for stockpile and re-handling work at a quarry, can anyone give me some indication of the expected fuel burn per hour? Ideally looking for figures from people that are physically running or own them themselves for a genuine result. Are they still burning similar amounts as the G series?
I don't know if this will help but we have at work a 2003 CAT 980G that we fuel up in the morning and it will run all day long (8 hours) and it will never run out of fuel
Thanks for that - do you know if it used a full tank by the end of the day? I'm guessing there was some left over as the 980Gs have a 470L fuel tank and if it used it all up then it would be burning about 58 l/per hour - which seems excessive. The last 980G we had was doing about 31 l/per hour. Any one else out there with any info on the H series feel free to jump in on the conversation. Thanks.
around 40l/ hour. but then ours operates in Africa. and may use different fuel types from the ones in North America. oh and, our last 980G's gobbled around 50l/hour in their final days...
