Hello, need advice how to find out what's wrong with the cat, I have read some similar issues here but this has something different too. Three weeks ago some steering issues, joystick went "light" after shutdown (lunch break) and only way to get it to work again was to hold against the stick when it does the startup. Then worked fine until last friday afternoon (been driving two or three hours that day) now the issue is that machine is not moving and kicks back to neutral after a second or two but steering works like it should. Are all those faults Active.? 168-4 is low system voltage. May or may not be relevant, especially if it is not Active. E192-3 is a Steering System malfunction. 3082-12 might be the key. "Steering Control Force Feedback Motor: Bad Component. A physical component of the Steering Control Feedback subsystem has been damaged. Inspection recommended. The power supply to the joystick has been interrupted." See the attached troublshooting procedure and check your message inbox.
To elaborate on that. Active Codes/Events will have the "X" in the RH column of the screen when you access the Diagnostic menu. It would be interesting if you can confirm if the 168-4 Codes are Active.
Thank You Nige! Today morning there was no power enough at batteries to start the engine, alternator belt was destroyed friday. That might explain why so many codes, but interesting thing is that there was no alert about alternator / battery voltage? Or the operator was ignoring it if there was. Today when we find new belt and it is a little problem because machine has axle cooling system the belt is very long 8pk2833 will continue troubleshooting if that is necessary anymore.
All trouble codes went inactive after belt replacement, just have to wait and see if joystick starts to fail.
You may just have dodged a bullet. A new joystick will be a lot more expensive than a replacement belt.
Yes it is. Looks like it is at Cat part shop 6420 Euros here in Finland and when I called to local dealer they gave me an offer of 6200. The part is reman 20R-5390. But for now everything seems fine.
