Anybody had any success using aftermarket rollers/idlers on a TCY D11 setup?
I suggest you ask the after market supplier who has purchased the parts you describe and contact them to get their experience.
I have not tried any on that large of a machine, but on D-8's and D-9's they do not last anywhere near as long as tha OEM parts, so I doubt they get better with the larger size with low volume. The aftermarket parts for big tracktors may be cheaper up front, but in cost per hour, they will never come close to the Cat price. In my opinion, they would have to be free to even begin to be a good deal.
From my experience on that size of dozer from any manufacturer you go away from OEM undercarriage at your peril or it turns into a money pit. The aftermarket stuff is cheap for a reason, it might work OK on a hobby machine but not too many D11s come into that category.
Cheers guys, will be replacing the aftermarket rollers with genuine as they fail...expensive exersice
I don't think anything on a D11 is cheap no matter where it comes from. Sure you try to save money but complaining the undercarriage is too expensive when you have a D11 is like the owner of a Ferrari complaining about the price of gas.
The biggest thing you can do to control undercarriage cost/hr on a D11 is to stop the operators from walking it everywhere. As one of my old bosses used to say "when they're walking they're not working but they're still wearing out & burning diesel..." We used to insist on Ops moving all our dozers & drills on a lowboy for any move more than 1km. The amount it saved us on undercarriage & fuel on the fleet would almost have bought us another new dozer at the end of each year
There's picture of an O&K RH200 in the back of a haul truck to move it to a new location.
