Cat D3G XL wont move, dash light on

Owned this D3G xl #c00761 for a few years ( 1500 hr machine) and always used a toggle switch to send power to the fuel pump shutoff relay to shut engine off. IT recently started blowing an ignition fuse and could smell some something hot. changed the switch but no help ,found the "hot item" which was the engine shut off timer ( part 154-3630) Since we had never used this we disconneced and taped up. Machine started and operated fine for a couple of hours, did not blow a fuse. Yesterday, after starting an engine light came on ( gear with explanation mark in side it) see photo. Machine will not move front or back. back story -This happened couple years ago , yellow then flashing red, and we took to Cat dealer, they could never duplicate the problem, cut open all the filters and no issue found, $3000 later I took it home with no remendy. since then, On occasion the yellow light would flash and machine felt jumpy , but it was always temp and returned to normal operation. Only change is the engine timer shut off has been removed, since it was shorting and blowing a fuse. So, now its inoperable, did the removal of the timer engine shut off part have any effects? or is it some other issue.

Do you mean CFC00761.? See this thread. Yes I know it's a D5G but all the G-Series from 3-5 work the same way. HeavyEquipmentForums Also check out Post #3 on this thread. Check what Diagnostic Codes in the Power Train electronics using the blink codes. HeavyEquipmentForums

Ive read the thread, and will see if we can get the blink code done, with the low hrs i would not think the coupler was the problem. and It will pull forward and reverse until light comes on. Seems normal until then. Park brake light is indicating on and off as normal...

Is that the only Code you have.? Did you read the attachment carefully that showed how to scroll from one Code to the next.? Check out paragraph 2 of the text in the bottom half of Page 1. FYI 141 is the Engine Speed Sensor. I'll look up some troubleshooting once you have confirmed it's the only Code that is Active.

Found out had a professional mobile mechanic close by and he came by today, it was the speed sensor, it had malfunctioned since it was dirty. I was not there , but he took it out and cleaned it. seems to run good now. ty for the help !!
