good day all had the interesting idea of trying to adapt a ripper from cat 955l machine to use on my D5N just wondering if feasible or not worth time and effort thanks
You will need to supply more information than that to get any sort of an answer. Serial Numbers for both machines.? If you don’t have info on the 955L at least a Part Number off the ripper frame, etc, etc.
D5N is an agg prefix i do not know the 955l serial but the mounting bracket is 5k-8878 wondering if bolt pattern was close to bolt on easily dozer mounting group is already plumbed for a ripper but has a drawbar on it it just seems track loaders pickup higher than dozer rippers give more clearance on jobs that do not require using ripper. thanks for replies and suggestions
I think you are going to struggle. The 955L mounting looks like this............ The D5N mounting looks like this. So apart from different number of bolts and different bolt patterns between the two machines what you also have to bear in mind is that the D5N is a high drive so the transmission pokes out of the back of the chassis. I think that is why the D5N uses 4 spearate mounting brackets (2 upper, 2 lower) compared to the 955L that uses 2 rails, one on each side.
