Recently purchased cat d6c , when started cold, engine will miss then after 3or 4 minutes will start firing on enjector or cyc and smooth out. changed all filters, no change, also under load can tell engine possibly not firing on every cyc. Did compression ck, found #5 cyc 200 psi while all other cycs 400 psi. added oil to cyc and did not change compression. Can injector on #5 cyc cause low compression or poss valve adjustment before I pull cyc head. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you,
Not an injector, likely a bad valve. Loosen the fuel lines at startup to see where the smoke is coming from. If you find a cyl smoking or firing weak swap the injector to another cyl that is firing good and clean. That will tell you if the injector is good or bad. Later Bob
