Cat grader rim

DB2 · 2025-01-02 19:44

Hi. Can anyone tell me if a Cat 290-1510 and a Cat 290-1511 wheel rim have the same mounting pattern ? According to the online parts store they have the same inner diameter. Thank you in advance.

Can I ask what on machine model and position (front or rear) you are wanting to install the rims and which of the two listed part numbers you want to install.? 290-1510 is a 10" x 24" front rim (14.00R24 tyre) for an H/K series AWD machine. 290-1511 is a 14" x 25" front rim (17.5R25 tyre) for an M-Series AWD machine.

Hi. Thank you both for responding. I am still trying to sort it out myself. Essentially just wanting a spare front tire for a 140 SN N9500208 which is known here as a 140-13 or lever. I have a front rim from a 143 H and although the offset is markedly different I was wondering if the bolt pattern was close. Just wanting a temporary solution if we get a flat. A new rim is $6K. For the record the Cat rear 10 bolt will interchange with a Champion/Volvo 10 bolt you just have to watch the inner clearance.

The offset is opposite but it must be the same. Put it opposite with ring inside

OEM from Cat.? Find a Topy dealer - they manufacture all Cat’s rims.

OK, so basically you have is what my documentation refers to as an M-Series, in order to distinguish it from the H & K models. So for a kickoff your particular machine was fitted ex-factory with 14"x25" rims intended for use with wide-base 17.5R25 tyres. As you rightly stated in your OP the basic wheel rim for the front tyres is a 290-1511. The 290-1510 Rim from an H-Series machine has the same bolt pattern as your machine, but with a different rim offset, therefore as a "get you home" spare you might possibly have to mount it in reverse to avoid fouling anything on the steering, although being 4" narrower I don't think you will have too much of a problem unless the difference in rim offset is immense. What is most important is that the 290-1510 is a 10"x24" rim designed for a standard-base 14.00R24 tyre. As I see it your big problem is the difference between the 24" and 25" rim diameter and the tyres you would need to fit to get something close to the same rolling radius (RR) on a standard-base 24" tyre versus a wide-base 25" tyre. Somehow you will need to get the RR as near as damnit the same otherwise you will suffer horrendous tyre scrub on the front tyres unless you have a way of allowing the front drive motors to freewheel. You need to think long and hard about this.

TBH the first thing I would try is contact your local earthmover tyre supplier and ask if they can supply a Topy rim the equivalent of a Cat Part Number 290-1511. Look a Topy's web site in the OTR rim section. OTR Wheels – Topyamerica topyamerica.com
