rjm022 ยท 2010-03-08 21:55

got a cat 226 skid steer. the last couple of days i have notice that when i lower the arms, the contact in the joystick will stick and not release unless i move/wiggle the joystick pretty good. only does this is the lowering position . before winter i removed both boots for the joysticks, cleaned and oiled, etc. any ideas/thoughts? thanks.

if you push the right leaver all the way forward it clicks into float, the arms will not have any hyd presher on them so thay can move up and down -good for back draging etc- on there own.the bucket still has full control . dozers also have this fuction.

bsically it alows the arms to float over the ground when you back drag the ground, it just follows the contour of the earth rising and falling with it

now i understand. thanks gentleman for the lesson/info. now it makes since. that must be what i am experiencing. i am just a novice. i was fortunate enough to be able to buy my own skid steer for personal/home use- still learning my way around my machine.
