What is used to put metal surfaces together, as in cover plates over clutches? Its orange and feels like silicone and its orange
cat used to use a liquid in a can, you would bursh it on . i use the red silcone ,just dont use to much remember when blue came out used it on, d 6 c covers ,it squeeze out and would get in valves, was a real pain in a--. now that i remember, so was the cat glue. there is one that will harden with like of air used on detroit engine cover worked real well.
So gues about any silicone would probably work for what I'm looking at
If you want to get the old style "Cat red" sealant, it's actually Loctite 1540591.
Thanks that helps
Loctite has a whole little catalog for Cat applications and the cat dealers stock products from it using the Loctite part number (we do at least). There is also a cross reference sheet for some of the old Cat chemical part numbers to equivalent Loctite products Cat has largely gotten out of the shop chemical/sealants business. Be aware that more modern chemicals have replaced older stuff for some things and may work better.
