Can anyone tell me what year and what model CAT launched Slope Assist? Can it be dealer installed? What is the smallest model on which it is offered? Operated D5 that had Slope Assist the other day and I was quite impressed.
Slope assist has been around about 8-10 years, on the K2 series and newer. You can ID if a dozer has it by a steel box with a harness on the upper left backside of the blade and it will also be on the display in the cab as well. If it’s not from the factory it’s a bear to install and likely too expensive. It’d be far easier to find a good dozer with it already installed.
Great, just what I needed to knoiw. Thank you.
Yes sir. And to answer your question about models, D1 up to D7 have it (older models d3k2-D6T). Possibly D8/D9 have it as an option but not sure since we rarely saw those.
JD o you know of any site or thread that has good pictures of various stages of wear on running gear? (Sprockets, rollers, tracks)
Best thing to do is post some pics up here on HEF of tractors you're looking at. We have many knowledgable members that can help tell condition and replacement value. Slope assist is nice, have it on our D3 NG.
Not all of the older models that JD955SC will have slope assist, so when shopping make sure that the one you are looking at does. I have a 2012 D6T that does not have slope assist, so there must be a break in later D6Ts in which it was included.
