While scrapping about 6" of material with the hoe on our 580D the pump let go and this is what I found, Split top and bottom.
Wow, better check the relief valve
New pump was installed and the machine returned to service. The only trouble was writing the check for parts
A long time ago, I had a 580 C that I thought was a little weak in the hydraulics. I fiddled around and adjusted the relief valve. I remember replacing all that hydraulic fluid was expensive too... :duh
I think we've all been there Digger, adjusting a relief valve without a gauge and spec is kinda like lighting a fuse without knowing where the charge is planted
