I picked up a pail of TO-4 30W to top up my Cat 931B and was wondering if it would hurt to top up the transmission in a 1986 Champion 730A with 8400 transmission? It normally calls for 10W oil. I don't think the oil level is that low. Idling in neutral I can see it splash in the sight glass. I think it's supposed to be 1/2 way up the sight glass when running. It holds 53 litres so think it might need about 4 litres to top it off.
