Why are the extra lights on trucks called chicken lights? Conversation started b/c of a friend's recent acquisition. The ad said 16 chicken lights and he asked WTH chicken lights were. All i had to say was extra running lights. We have a couple ideas as to why, but are probably wrong.]
well just yesterday I heard a guy calling roof clearance lights on pickup trucks pickel lights.
I think it started with chicken hauler(trucks hauling chickens to processing) putting lots of extra lights on their trucks? Now it just seems a fad, alot call them BBR's (billy big rig'rs) that over do the lights. Some are good, sometimes it's too much. To each their own. I have a couple extras on my Mack. Pickle lights? I suppose that comes from the old rest stops(pickle parks), leaving your lights on meant you were "looking" for.......? BTW, neat ol bumpside 1ton with custom tandem.
Has it got anything to do with whether it will fit under that gap Going to try or are you chicken ? :beatsme
what kind of truck is that in the picture customized up i assume i know assumption is the mother of all screw ups but hey
The blue bomber is, in our estimation, a 2 wheel drive crewcab long bed F350 with a regular f250 cab. with a pusher axle behind the regular axle. Has a six that was hacked and wedged in place of a 460 :bash and a 4 speed. It might be able to get out of its own way with the original big block, and would be more fun to drive with a diesel. With just one drive axel and the pusher always unloading the driver, it gets stuck on uneven gravel. My solution is the m35 parts truck down the road that would make a sweet 6x6 f350, but they don't want to work on it much. We might paint it black and red, go for the whole Mad Max theme.
Thanks for the link Squizzy, but we still dont know, WHY :drinkup
What year is the actual chassis? The 67-72 didn't come with 460's(6cyl, 302, or FE's: 352/360/390 ci). The later 73-79 went from FE to 460 about mid life. That truck has a '72 grille inserts in it, but that is easily changed 70-72 as the insert is the only difference. The 67-69 had all metal grilles.
