Hello, I have a C500-45 serial 40-629-2509 which, when I was driving forward about 8 mph, all of a sudden the engine loaded up just a bit for a split second, then it rolled to a stop, and won't move forward or reverse. Engine fine, lift works fine, hydraulic and fluid levels fine, color is good. Took the plate off the top of the torque converter and it spins when starter is engaged. Looks like there is some trans fluid in the bottom of the torque converter compartment. Is that normal? Would like to check trans pressure but can't see where to Tee in anywhere. Any thoughts on that? Service manual says how to overhaul trans but not how to troubleshoot it. Mechanic thought there was a different manual for the trans with troubleshooting. Does anyone have that? Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot? Thanks in advance!
There should be no oil by the converter .I might what is your email ?
Thanks, it is [email protected]
maybe a little bit of seepage from the converter seal might be encountered on an older lift like this, but nothing major..if you can get the lift moved where you can work on it 1st thing check oil level in transmission, then you'll need to check pressures on the trans valve body,1st check if you have pump pressure, then check pressures in the valve body via test ports this will tell you what you have.then again if you have all normal pressures but torque conv went south that may explain why you have no drive..if theres no oil in the torque conv it will not couple the drive to the trans even if you have trans pressures. the trans pump should feed the torque conv as well
