we just purchased a clark 45c wheel loader, unloaded it off the truck, drove it 3 or 4 miles to the shop, shut it off, filled it with fuel, and it hasn't moved since. it has a manual declutch that seems to work correctly, the brakes aren't locked up and the oil level is right. when you put it in forward or reverse it dosent even try to move. any ideas or suggestions?
Not sure how a 45c is but does it have the driveshaft between the torque converter and trans? if so put it in neutral and check to see if it spins. If it doesnt you could potentially have a striped out drive ring. Maybe hook up a pressure gauge to the transmission regulator valve kinda looks like a tube looking deal if that drive line is spinnin, mounted on the side of the converter see what kind of pressure you have. if you dont have enough pressure the clutchs wont engage. Id make darn sure the declutch valve isnt stuck as well. seems like it could be something silly as quick as you say it happened.
The 45c has the converter connected to the transmission by a drop box, so there is no driveline. i agree with you I think it is probably something silly, do you know what kind of pressure I should have on the transmission regulator valve? Also, on the declutch is there a way to completely disable it? I took the line off so it wouldn't get pressure from the brakes but that doesn't mean it's not hanging up inside the transmission control valve
I know on my 55b it is supposed to be 240 to 280psi and it should maintain that pressure through all gears forward and reverse. Do you have hydraulic functions? Or how are the hydro pumps on that unit.? My guess is if you have no hydro functions and cant move then your drive gear jas to be goners. Let me know what ya got. As far as the declutch its very possible it could be stuck. Pull it off the shift valve and check it out i think it just unthreads.
