    It appears that Samsung is behind this. Modern composites are often stronger than steel but a lot more expensive. Obviously the theory is that if you reduce the weight of the arm, you can either lift more or reduce the amount of counter weight required. It is a matter of weighing up the extra initial purchase price versus extra productivity. If you can stick a 5% bigger bucket on the same size machine, you will get more done.
